Christmas resources that are non-commercial are hard to come by. I have uploaded 5 smartboard documents that I created that can be downloaded for educational purposes only. Two are based on the Infancy Narratives according to Matthew and Luke. Primary students find these versions hard to comprehend because they contain different elements from the commercial Christmas narratives. The idea behind the two smartboard documents is to allow students to read the text from the pull tab and then drag the images to retell the story in their own words (they can even use SMART recorder to record their movements and dialogue). The notebook called ‘The Nativity of Luke and Matthew’ looks at similarities and differences between the two Narratives. The other smartboard document is a carol (Oh Come Oh Ye Faithful) which is an example of how sound files can be embedded within your smartboard software.
You can download a Christmas Notebook Gallery Collection file by clicking here. There are also other smartboard Christmas links for you. Please note, this article will be updated again with more Chirstmas smartboard resources so come back soon.

This is what I aspire to. With smartboard technology you can bring nature into the classroom through digital or video footage, create and be spontaneous, project and magnify things that the human eye would otherwise miss, engage and connect globally, discover and share, build and construct, relive and reunite, you can inspire and foster passion for learning. This video is great except for the last part, requesting acknowledgment for the best teacher in the world.

Inter-tech Education will be running a 2 day smartboard and ICT conference on April 18th and April 19th 2012, in replacement of our traditional 1 day smartboard training days which were held throughout school terms. Joanne will be joined with other South Australian (SA) presenters . Delegates will have a choice of over 40 different IT training sessions over the 2 days. There will be a combination of presentation style sessions and hands on workshops where most delegates will have access to a computer, software and the Internet. There are session for SMART Notebook users, Promethean ActivInspire users and teachers who don’t have access to interactive whiteboards. Registrations are open, all you need to do is vistit the conference page!

Please note: A SMART MATH tool add on was demonstrated towards the end of this tutorial. This feature does not come standard with your SMART software. If you would like to purchase this feature you will need to contact your SMART wholesaler. Alternatviely, if you simply require a Notebook document with fraction pieces already made you can find one on this website if you scroll through archived posts.

Johnnie’s Math Page has loads of interactive math activities for students and teachers (regardless of which brand of smartboard you have). Please note that it is not Australian, therfore the money and some measurement tasks are not suitable for Australian classrooms.

Below is a link to a web quest that I created for one of my University assignments as part of my Masters in Education/ICT. It is based on the Primary Connections unit Feathers, fur or leaves? To make it more interactive I created smartboard resources which can be downloaded from the site. The name of the web quest will soon change, it is currently called ‘sandbox’ as it was my play area. If you find any errors or have any suggestions please contact me as I have not submitted my final copy yet. Please note, this web quest is for educational purposes only.

I have uploaded a zip file of some interactive resources that I created in order to complement the Primary Connection Unit, ‘Plants in Action’. Please note, this unit is heavily based on video footage.
