Interactive Tech Training for Smart Teachers

The Venue

The New Venue:

Inter-tech Education has changed their Professional Development venue. All sessions will be held at Rostrevor College (Glen Stuart Rd, Woodforde, SA). Rostrevor College has
interactive Smart boards and will provide a computer room for participants. During ‘hands on sessions’, participants will be able to access Notebook 10.6 software, toolkit 2.0 and have internet access.

Rational for change:

Inter-tech Education has adopted a more hands on approach to Smart Board training by
providing a venue with a SMART Board™ interactive whiteboard, individual computers and Internet access for all participants.

Change made possible:

Inter-tech Education is proudly supported by Rostrevor College Junior School, under the leadership of Principal Larry Spry. Larry Spry, an experienced educator, believes that engaging students actively in their learning through IWB technology should be an aim and a skill for teachers of the 21st century. Therefore, providing a technologically rich environment that supports Educational development, such as Rostrevor College, will enable current teachers to embrace IWB technology and transfer this knowledge back to their own class environment. IWB Professional Development, such as that provided by Inter-tech Education is aimed at making teachers feel comfortable with the software, develop self confidence and refine current Smart board skills.

Rostrevor College Junior School provides an essential medium to deliver IWB Professional Development through the SMART Board™ interactive whiteboard and computer room facilities. As a long term educator and advocate of Technology in Education, Larry Spry believes that it is necessary for teachers to be able to use and apply technology into their normal teaching pedagogy. Furthermore, IWB’s are not only a visual and interactive medium, they are also a link to the outside classroom. IWB’s encourage participation, excitement and capture students’ attention through digital learning.

Rostrevor College Junior School not only embrace IWB technology in terms of providing a venue for IWB Professional Development for teachers, but also as a learning medium for their students. Teachers at Rostrevor College Junior School tailor their interactive teaching and learning programs for boys through IWB technology in order to deliver powerful and meaningful teaching programs. The implementation of IWB technology across the curriculum complements the current proactive and student focussed programs that teachers deliver daily at Rostrevor Junior School, encouraging discovery, inquiry and meaningful learning.
